Oil Rubbed Bronze Lamps

22 Apr

Did you have a great weekend?

Shew!  I’m still catching my breath from last week.  Some organizing projects with my man and his area, birthday party prep for my baby who is now 10!  (Oh My Word!) Swim Lessons—which were awesome and some great God opportunities all wrapped up in one!

So, without further ado, on to Today’s Upcycle.

Lamps.

Thrift Store Find. Cheap. Cheap. $2.50 for two.

One can spray paint.  Did you know they make oil rubbed bronze spray paint?

Nothing fancy, just an easy quick inexpensive update on some brass lamps.

How ’bout you?  Had any spray paint projects you’re just dying to share?  Let us know.

Happy Monday!

Monday’s Upcycle: Spoon Wreath

8 Apr

So it would seem that I’m all about the plastic ware these days.  First here, now this.

But, this.

This is the best wreath for a buck I’ve seen.  I hope you like it too.

Here’s all you need and how I made mine.

Plastic spoons. (I got mine at Dollar Tree and they came 48 in a pack…I used 46)

Hot glue/gun

10ish minutes….great project to do with kids.  Mine helped.

That’s it.

I played around with the positioning for just a second before I committed with the glue.

Then, I added a dot of glue here…

Almost there…

IMG_1485And that’s it.  I did pause at some spots and held it in place just to let it dry if it seemed to be separating.

Lovely.  Like the laurel wreaths the Greeks love.

I was first inspired to do this about two years ago when I saw this.

Here’s another example of some with colored spoons.
